                 How You Can Help

spacer block

The Community Education Foundation provides opportunities for individuals and organizations to make tax exempt charitable donations to a number of different projects and scholarships.

Please consider a donation to the Community Education Foundation to support the operation of our organization, or designate your gift to any one of our programs!

Community Education Foundation Endowment Fund

The Community Education Foundation is supported by the

Kids & Company before and after school program, along

with donations provided by grants, and community and

business donations. Our goal is to build an endowment

fund that will support the Community Education

Foundation for years to come, while making other funds

available to provide more resources for our programs.

Gold Star Fund

Gold Star is the Foundation's fund used to support

activities and needs that fall outside of indivual

programs and grants funded by restricted dollars.

Donations to the Gold Star Fund help the Foundation by

allowing us to determine where your donation is needed

most! In addition to general operating expenses that help

keep us up and running, Gold Star includes many of the

individual funds listed on this page: Gear Up! Students,

Teacher Classroom Grants, CB Alumni, & Teacher & Staff

     Appreciation.

Gear Up! Students

Students are able to perform at their best when their

personal needs are adequately provided for.  Over 60%

of students in the Council Bluffs schools are in homes

where the household income puts them "at risk".

Gear Up! Students provides funds that school building

staff members can utilize to purchase items necessary

for the immediate needs of individual students that

parents may not be able to provide. These could include,

but are not limited to: school supplies, hygiene items, eye

glasses, prescription medication, & proper fitting or

     weather appropriate clothing.

Classroom Grants

CEF provides annual grants to Council Bluffs School

Distrcit classroom teachers for innovative and creative

projects that enhance the classroom curriculum, especially

in the areas of math and literacy.

Teacher & Staff Appreciation

Each month and each year, the Council Bluffs Community

School Distrcict recognizes teachers and support staff

who go above and beyond in their job. The Community

Education Foundation partners with local businesses

to reward these outstanding district employees with

a meal or cash award for their oustanding service to our

     students.

CB Alumni Association

The CEF's CB Alumni Assocation maintains a vast

database for each graduating class of the Council Bluffs

Community School District. Your donation will help us

continue to grow activities and efforts to keep CB

     graduates connected and involved.

STARS Scholarship

STARS Scholarship is a supplemental scholarship for

low income parents returning to school. It helps pay for

expenses not traditionally covered by other scholarship

funds that without, might prevent scholars from

completing their education. Assistance can be used for

tuition, books, transportation, childcare, school supplies

and technology needs, and uniforms or professional

     dress.
