STARS Cohort

STARS Scholars belong to a cohort. An orientation is held at the beginning of each school year to cover new information about the scholarship, help scholars prepare for their classes and allow them to get to know one another. Additionally, they are provided with a handbook containing a list of service agencies, contact information, and articles on topics applicable to them.
Seminars are held to address a variety of issues such as budgeting, preparing for a job interview, parenting under stress, etc.
The cohort also provides a support network for recipients allowing them to get to know others who share common interests and concerns. |
